Editor's Review

Nairobi Equestrian Stables offers a serene escape into the world of horse riding, conveniently located within the greater Nairobi area. While it provides a professional environment for all skill levels, visitors should note that this is a specialized service facility, meaning access is strictly by appointment, and you must arrange your session well in advance to secure a spot.

For those looking to enjoy the equestrian atmosphere on a tighter budget, consider visiting the nearby public park areas or viewing points where you can enjoy a scenic walk and watch the horses during training sessions from a distance without the cost of a private lesson.

The Cost: Lessons are generally priced per session, typically ranging between KSH 3,000 and KSH 5,000. It is highly recommended to inquire about multi-session packages or monthly memberships, which often provide better value for consistent riders compared to single drop-in lessons.

The Experience: The facility is designed for comfort and safety, featuring well-maintained, flat riding arenas that are easy to navigate. Visitors can expect a calm, structured environment where the physical activity involves guided mounting, walking, and trotting, making it physically accessible for children as young as three and adults with no prior experience.

What you can get: You get access to highly qualified, patient instructors who prioritize rider confidence and safety. The stables are known for their well-cared-for horses, a peaceful environment, and a professional administrative team that ensures a smooth onboarding process for first-time riders.

Ultimately, Nairobi Equestrian Stables stands out for its commitment to quality instruction and animal welfare. Whether you are a parent looking to build your child's confidence or an adult picking up a new hobby, the combination of expert coaching and a tranquil setting makes this an excellent choice for anyone in Nairobi.

More Details

"I must write a review because I was so impressed with the instructors, the admin staff and the grounds. I took my 3 year old horse obsessed child for his first lesson and his confidence grew from the first contact with the administrator to meeting his horse to his horsé's handler and his instructor... I have been to other stables but this one far exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend it" - k wamaina (Google Review)

Everything You Need to Know About Discovering Kenya

As we move deeper into 2026, the definition of travel is evolving. No longer content with superficial sightings, the modern traveler seeks depth, purpose, and local engagement. This guide is curated to help you navigate the diverse ecosystems of Kenya—from our high-altitude massifs to our hidden coastal creek retreats and exclusive conservation-first conservancies.

  • Sustainable & Carbon-Neutral Stays

The Wild Heart of the Savannah

In 2026, the best safari isn't the one with the most lion sightings; it's the one in a private conservancy where you're the only vehicle for miles. The Maasai Mara, Samburu, and Tsavo remain the cornerstone of any Kenyan journey. We recommend focusing on the conservancies where private concessions limit vehicle numbers, ensuring a truly intimate encounter with the Great Migration and the rare Northern Species like the Grevy's zebra.

Coastal Serenity & Marine Magic

From the white sands of Watamu to the mystical lanes of Lamu Old Town, the Kenyan coast offers a blend of Swahili heritage and marine biodiversity. 2026 sees a massive surge in kitesurfing and ocean-to-plate dining experiences that prioritize small-scale local fishermen. Discover Diani for world-class luxury and Kilifi for the artistic soul.

The High-Altitude Challenge

Kenya's mountains offer some of the most rigorous and rewarding trekking in Africa. Mt. Kenya, the Aberdares, and the various escarpments of the Rift Valley go beyond the typical safari experience. As the lead authority in Kenyan hiking, we provide essential data on trail conditions, elevation gain, and the best-vetted local guides to ensure your safety and enjoyment.
