Accessing the farm requires a private vehicle, and it is essential to note that the experience is exclusive to those who have booked in advance through their website, as the farm operates on a structured schedule rather than open-gate hours.
For those looking for a more casual or budget-friendly alternative in the region, the nearby Kiambu coffee estates offer scenic walks and coffee tasting tours that provide a beautiful, low-cost way to experience the local agricultural landscape without the full-day commitment of a formal lunch tour.
The Cost: The experience is priced as an all-inclusive package, typically costing between KSH 4,500 and KSH 6,000 per person. This covers the guided farm and factory tour, a comprehensive cheese tasting session, and a multi-course farm-to-table lunch. Wine is available to purchase separately at an additional cost.
The Experience: Visiting Brown's feels like a curated culinary retreat. You will spend time walking through the farm and the production facility, which involves some light walking on varied terrain, so sturdy footwear is advised. What you can get: You can expect a deep dive into the craft of cheesemaking, including a tour of the cheese maturation caves. The culinary offerings are the highlight, featuring a variety of artisanal cheeses, homemade sourdough bread, carrot hummus, fresh seasonal salads, and their signature homemade ice cream for dessert.
Brown's Cheese Factory is an exceptional destination for anyone who appreciates quality food and a transparent look at the production process. While it requires planning and a higher budget than a standard restaurant visit, the combination of history, education, and high-end dining makes it a standout experience in the Kenyan countryside.

You get to see the cheese caves where thousands of wheels mature and learn how everything is crafted by hand. The tasting session is amazing, with a variety of artisanal cheeses paired with homemade crackers, bread, chutneys, and house wines. The experience ends with a fresh, seasonal lunch and dessert that perfectly round off the day. A visit to Brown’s is not just a tour, it’s a full culinary adventure worth every moment.

Had a beautiful tour of the farm, they explain the process of manufacturing the cheeses, ice creams, sour dough, all round good day. The farm has a rich history and a great story. Enjoyed the lunch provided 🍽 which was basically farm to fork, and I love it! Tasted all the cheeses🧈🧀🍞🫓 all the sour dough. I would highly recommend going for this farm tour it really surpassed my expectations. Dessert was coffee and Delia's ice cream ofcourse 🍦. The location is lovely, and I ended the tour buying a few goodies at the farm shop. Booking in advance via website is required.

An amazing place to experience! Brown's dairy makes yummy products and it was awesome to witness everything first hand. We had a complete tour of the facility. Cheese platter followed by lunch was delicious! The desert was ice cream made by them, of course! Greenery everywhere and the farm animals are very nice too. Book via their website and make sure to wear proper footwear as your feet might get soaked inside the dairy.

What a wonderful day to visit the Brown's Cheese Farm. The weather was in our favour as well! As you arrive, you are welcomed with smiles from friendly staff and a welcome drink. You are then sitted at a well set table with a fire burning in the background to keep you warm. Like a 5-star hotel, the menu is printed and elgantly placed on the table with some beautiful flowers. The welcome drink is a choice between lime juice and raspberry juice, or you can have both! The waiters are well trained, courteous, and quick with service. You are then served with 3 cheese samosas, sorghum crackers, and carrot hummus. Hmmm delicious 😋. After that, for hygiene purposes, you are given a coat and head cover for the factory tour. Taken round and explained in detail what they do and how they started. How they source products from local farmers and promote the use of natural products. The cheese is processed with vegetable fermenting products. The tour is about 20 minutes, and thereafter, on a beautiful Platter, you are served with a variety of different cheese they produce at the farm. This comes with fresh bread and crackers freshly made at their farm. Soooo filling!...and soooo delicious!. Their very own cream cheese with paprika and sesame seeds is divine! The lunch is pumpkin soup and some fresh salads and greens for the vegetarians. For the meat eaters, there is soup, lamb and chapati, and greens. All the food is fresh and delicious 😋 Their very own ice cream is then served with coffee. I could not stand up from the table after all the food we were served with. Tooooo full! 🤪 You can then go and buy some of their fresh cheese and products from their in-house shop. Wonderfully organized! It's totally worth it.! P.S. You can also have wine from a wide variety at an extra price.
