Editor's Review

The Forest Adventure Centre in Kiambu offers a high-octane escape tucked away in the lush mountain landscape, located about an hour and fifteen minutes from downtown Nairobi. While the scenery is breathtaking, visitors should be aware that the final stretch of the road requires a steady hand, and calling ahead to book your activity slots is essential to avoid disappointment.

If you are looking for a more relaxed alternative to the high-intensity ziplines, the nature walks through the dense indigenous forest offer a serene and cost-effective way to enjoy the mountain air and spot local birdlife without the adrenaline rush.

The Cost: Activities are priced per session, with 2-line ziplining starting at approximately KSH 2,500 and the full 6-line course at KSH 3,500. Restaurant meals are reasonably priced with generous portions, typically costing between KSH 800 and KSH 1,500 per person.

The Experience: Expect a physically engaging day that involves trekking through unpaved, rugged forest terrain. The infrastructure is designed for adventure, meaning you will need sturdy hiking shoes and a moderate level of fitness to navigate the forest floor between the zipline platforms and the paintball arena.

What you can get: The centre offers a diverse range of activities including a professional archery range, a tactical paintball arena with natural obstacles, 6-line ziplining, horse riding, and foot golf. The on-site restaurant serves hearty, comforting meals perfect for refueling after a long day of outdoor exertion.

Overall, this is a top-tier destination for those who value active exploration over passive sightseeing. While the road in can be challenging, the combination of professional-grade safety for adventure sports and a cozy, welcoming dining atmosphere makes it a standout choice for groups and families alike.

Multiple engaging, competitive activities like Zip Lining & Archery, in one place. Been there multiple times and every time it’s to show someone who didn’t even know the place existed. Be sure to book by calling in advance and show up on time for your activities.

The Forest Adventure is an unforgettable place. It's about an hour and fifteen minutes' drive from downtown Nairobi. Turning from the main road onto the path leading into the mountain is a bit tough, but the scenery along the way is really beautiful. We went horse - riding in the forest and tried the jungle ziplines on two routes. It gave us the feeling of flying through the jungle like birds. The staff will train people in relevant ziplining skills in advance, and safety is fully guaranteed. It's an exciting and lovable place, suitable for team - building activities, wilderness hiking and games.

My visit to The Forest Adventure Centre & Restaurant was nothing short of incredible! From start to finish, the experience was packed with excitement, adventure, and top-notch service. The highlight of my day was the thrilling 6 zip lines, which took about 2 hours to complete. The adrenaline rush as I soared over breathtaking landscapes was an experience I won’t forget! The nature walk was equally amazing—both scenic and adventurous, offering stunning views and a chance to connect with nature. I also tried archery, and it was an absolute blast! The instructors were patient and knowledgeable, making it fun even for beginners like me. The whole environment was serene and peaceful, making it the perfect getaway from the city hustle. After all the adventure, I enjoyed a delicious meal with decent portions at the restaurant. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. I also appreciated how educative the team was, sharing insights about the activities and the surrounding nature. They also offer horse riding, paint ball which is good for 4 plus pax, foot golf which i for sure will try on my next visit, they are also cashless using M-pesa or card not cash to prepare accordingly Overall, The Forest Adventure Centre & Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking for fun, adventure, and relaxation all in one place. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to visit again! 🌿🏹💚

Beautiful venue. The zipline is an incredible experience, with two options to choose from: 2 (750m), or 6 (2.2km) lines. The 6-line option has a significant walking portion, so wear appropriate footwear/clothing. The food here is pretty good, with generous portions.

The Wild Heart of the Savannah

In 2026, the best safari isn't the one with the most lion sightings; it's the one in a private conservancy where you're the only vehicle for miles. The Maasai Mara, Samburu, and Tsavo remain the cornerstone of any Kenyan journey. We recommend focusing on the conservancies where private concessions limit vehicle numbers, ensuring a truly intimate encounter with the Great Migration and the rare Northern Species like the Grevy's zebra.
