Editor's Review

The Collective Restaurant and Art Gallery is a sophisticated urban sanctuary situated on the ground floor of View Park Towers in Nairobi's Central Business District, right next to the Alliance Francaise and Goethe Institut. It offers a seamless blend of fine dining and local artistry, making it a convenient stop for city dwellers looking for a break from the urban hustle without needing to travel far or pay entry fees.

For a budget-friendly alternative nearby, visitors can stroll through the neighboring Alliance Francaise or Goethe Institut grounds to appreciate free public art installations and community cultural events that often complement the artistic vibe of the area.

The Cost: There is no entry fee to access the restaurant. You can expect to spend between KSH 1,500 and KSH 3,500 per person depending on your choice of cocktails and main courses, which represents good value for the quality of the ambiance provided.

The Experience: The venue offers a refined, climate-controlled indoor dining experience with fully paved, accessible flooring. It is designed for relaxed, seated dining and social engagement rather than high-intensity movement, making it ideal for those seeking a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing environment.

What you can get: Highlights include their signature garlic fries, a variety of well-crafted cocktails, and a rotating display of contemporary Kenyan artwork. The menu features fresh, chef-prepared meals that cater to those who appreciate culinary creativity alongside visual art.

The Collective stands out as a hidden gem for its tasteful decor and artistic focus. While service can occasionally be slow during busy periods, the combination of a well-curated atmosphere and delicious, reasonably priced food makes it a top-tier destination for anyone wanting to experience the creative heartbeat of Nairobi's city center.

It is a well designed beautifully lit place. The food is priced reasonably and has a great ambiance. Food was cooked fresh and was served with little waiting time. The place has ample seating, nice music and art over to give it a good feel all around. Would recommend anyone who wants to enjoy art music and good food all in one place.

The Collective is definitely a place I plan on visiting again and again. The service was excellent! The food was very well made and the cocktails... Oh those cocktails😍 The garlic fries were a big hit in our group. Shout out to our waitress Lucy and Chef Enos. I hear that the music was different from what we experienced recently. I expected instrumental music, but that's not what we got. I suppose the pandemic changed things. However, the DJ definitely understood the assignment. My friends and I really enjoyed the music, and so did other guests that night. The ambience is great, but I thought I'd see more artwork than what was on display. It just seemed like the usual decor found in other restaurants instead of an "art gallery" as promised. Again, things have been different post-pandemic. All in all, I give this place 5 stars because the experience was completely worth it.

The Hotel is one of the hidden gems next to Alliance franchise and goethe institute. It is on View park towers, ground floor. Food is sumptuous and well done. Service is also 10/10 and the Art gallery infused into the restaurant makes this a rather unique place to have a dining experience. It is also not crowded and trust me, you will have a good time. I vouch for this place

I visited this restaurant with a friend on a Saturday afternoon and I loved it! This place is filled with beautiful artwork that is on sale! Furthermore, the ambiance and decor is very very tasteful. I applaud whoever did the interior design work on this place, they nailed it! If you are an art lover then you will definitely love this place. The food was fantastic, the drinks were appropriately strong and the service was impeccable. I also loved how they used locally made items to spice up the place. The creativity is a definite plus especially in the drinks menu. I would definitely go back again. Would 10/10 recommend, especially for date night.

The food is delicious but some of the portions were small. Still great for the price. The service was very slow, took about 30 minutes to get our drinks and 45 minutes to get food. The servers were polite but slow. The cocktails were watery. The ambience and the delicious food carried the day.

The Wild Heart of the Savannah

In 2026, the best safari isn't the one with the most lion sightings; it's the one in a private conservancy where you're the only vehicle for miles. The Maasai Mara, Samburu, and Tsavo remain the cornerstone of any Kenyan journey. We recommend focusing on the conservancies where private concessions limit vehicle numbers, ensuring a truly intimate encounter with the Great Migration and the rare Northern Species like the Grevy's zebra.
