Editor's Review

Playza, situated within the bustling Prestige Plaza on Ngong Road, is Nairobi’s latest revolution in indoor entertainment. Opened in late 2024, this massive facility serves as a one-stop shop for leisure, offering everything from high-tech bowling to virtual reality experiences. Because it is located inside a major shopping mall, accessibility is excellent via public or private transport, though visitors should budget for both activity costs and dining expenses to fully enjoy the experience.

If the main attractions feel too pricey, head straight for the arcade section or the pool tables where you can pay for single games rather than committing to the larger group activities like the Strike Arena. Alternatively, grab a coffee at The Daily Café and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the common areas without needing to purchase an expensive activity package.

The Cost: Entry to the venue is free, but individual activities like bowling, mini-golf, and VR games operate on a pay-per-play basis. Expect to spend between KSH 1,500 and KSH 4,000 per person depending on how many games you play, while a full meal and drinks at The Daily Café will typically cost between KSH 1,500 and KSH 3,000 per person.

The Experience: The facility is entirely indoors and fully climate-controlled, featuring polished, flat, and stroller-friendly flooring throughout. The movement is varied; you can be as active as you like, from the physical engagement of the Strike Arena labyrinth and bumper cars to the more sedentary, relaxed pace of the karaoke rooms or the restaurant lounge.

What you can get: Highlights include a 12-lane bowling alley featuring Hyper Bowling, an interactive 12-hole Mind Golf course, and a dedicated kids' play zone. Adults can enjoy private karaoke suites, high-end pool tables, and a wide selection of gourmet meals and fire cocktails from the on-site Daily Café & Bistro.

Playza is a welcome addition to Nairobi’s social scene, successfully packing a wide variety of entertainment under one roof. While the food service speed can be a frustration during peak hours, the sheer diversity of activities makes it an easy recommendation for anyone looking to blow off steam without leaving the city center.

Great place, nice vibe, bowling with nice music and atmosphere, karaoke, billiards, miniature golf, shuffle board, VR, a playzone for smaller children and Strike Arena - where you compete in teams or against each other in a labyrinth -great fun! They have nice drinks and food though it took a bit long to get the food and it was a little pricey.

Their food did not disappoint and the prices are relatively fair. Everything was flavorful and well seasoned. They have cool games like mini golf ( this was fun), bowling, karaoke and bumper cars. Would definitely go again.

Spent the afternoon at Playza in Prestige Plaza and it was so much fun! Bowling, mini-golf, VR, bumper cars, pool tables—they’ve packed in all the fun stuff under one roof. They’ve also got a Daily Café inside, one of my favourite restaurants, serving delicious meals and fire cocktails. Definitely one of those places you go “just for an hour” and end up closing the place. Will 100% be back!

As we move deeper into 2026, the definition of travel is evolving. No longer content with superficial sightings, the modern traveler seeks depth, purpose, and local engagement. This guide is curated to help you navigate the diverse ecosystems of Kenya—from our high-altitude massifs to our hidden coastal creek retreats and exclusive conservation-first conservancies.

The Wild Heart of the Savannah

In 2026, the best safari isn't the one with the most lion sightings; it's the one in a private conservancy where you're the only vehicle for miles. The Maasai Mara, Samburu, and Tsavo remain the cornerstone of any Kenyan journey. We recommend focusing on the conservancies where private concessions limit vehicle numbers, ensuring a truly intimate encounter with the Great Migration and the rare Northern Species like the Grevy's zebra.

Coastal Serenity & Marine Magic

From the white sands of Watamu to the mystical lanes of Lamu Old Town, the Kenyan coast offers a blend of Swahili heritage and marine biodiversity. 2026 sees a massive surge in kitesurfing and ocean-to-plate dining experiences that prioritize small-scale local fishermen. Discover Diani for world-class luxury and Kilifi for the artistic soul.

The High-Altitude Challenge

Kenya's mountains offer some of the most rigorous and rewarding trekking in Africa. Mt. Kenya, the Aberdares, and the various escarpments of the Rift Valley go beyond the typical safari experience. As the lead authority in Kenyan hiking, we provide essential data on trail conditions, elevation gain, and the best-vetted local guides to ensure your safety and enjoyment.
