Editor's Review

The Oshwal Complex in Westlands is a well-maintained facility known for its clean swimming pool and versatile halls. However, it is important to note that access is strictly limited to members of the Oshwal community, meaning the general public cannot gain entry to use the amenities.

For those in the Westlands area looking for public alternatives, there are several commercial fitness centers and public swimming pools nearby that offer day-pass access for non-members, often providing more flexible options for casual visitors.

The Cost: Access is exclusive to community members. There is no public entry fee, as the facility does not cater to non-members or walk-in guests.

The Experience: Visiting the complex feels private and orderly, with paved, indoor, and outdoor spaces that are kept in good condition. The infrastructure is designed for focused activity, whether you are utilizing the pool for laps or participating in a group yoga session in their clear, spacious halls.

What you can get: Members can access a large, well-maintained swimming pool, showers with hot water, and clean, multipurpose halls suitable for community gatherings and fitness training.

Editorial Verdict: While the facility offers a high standard of cleanliness and utility, its restrictive membership policy makes it a "members-only" destination that is not suitable for the general public or casual tourists in Nairobi.

Really disappointing. I became a member, expecting sauna and steam room. Pool is freezing, sauna isn’t working and steam room needs 3 people to book it together apparently! Really regret becoming a member and their support email is totally unhelpful/unresponsive. I would recommend other sport centers around Westlands

Everything You Need to Know About Discovering Kenya

As we move deeper into 2026, the definition of travel is evolving. No longer content with superficial sightings, the modern traveler seeks depth, purpose, and local engagement. This guide is curated to help you navigate the diverse ecosystems of Kenya—from our high-altitude massifs to our hidden coastal creek retreats and exclusive conservation-first conservancies.

The Wild Heart of the Savannah

In 2026, the best safari isn't the one with the most lion sightings; it's the one in a private conservancy where you're the only vehicle for miles. The Maasai Mara, Samburu, and Tsavo remain the cornerstone of any Kenyan journey. We recommend focusing on the conservancies where private concessions limit vehicle numbers, ensuring a truly intimate encounter with the Great Migration and the rare Northern Species like the Grevy's zebra.

Coastal Serenity & Marine Magic

From the white sands of Watamu to the mystical lanes of Lamu Old Town, the Kenyan coast offers a blend of Swahili heritage and marine biodiversity. 2026 sees a massive surge in kitesurfing and ocean-to-plate dining experiences that prioritize small-scale local fishermen. Discover Diani for world-class luxury and Kilifi for the artistic soul.

The High-Altitude Challenge

Kenya's mountains offer some of the most rigorous and rewarding trekking in Africa. Mt. Kenya, the Aberdares, and the various escarpments of the Rift Valley go beyond the typical safari experience. As the lead authority in Kenyan hiking, we provide essential data on trail conditions, elevation gain, and the best-vetted local guides to ensure your safety and enjoyment.
