Editor's Review

Mount Kipipiri Golf & Resort is a premier destination nestled in the lush hills of the Kipipiri Forest, offering a rare blend of world-class golfing and serene luxury. While the resort provides an immaculate, state-of-the-art 18-hole course, guests should be prepared for a drive through rural terrain to reach this secluded highland getaway.

If you are not a golfer, the resort is still a fantastic spot for a quiet nature retreat. You can spend your time hiking the surrounding forest trails or simply relaxing in the modern clubhouse to enjoy the cool mountain air and the peaceful ambiance away from the city bustle.

The Cost: Pricing is premium, reflecting the high-end nature of the course and accommodation. Expect to pay standard luxury resort rates for overnight stays, while golf green fees are priced for the serious player; it is recommended to call ahead for current seasonal packages and membership rates.

The Experience: Visiting here is an active engagement with nature. The golf course is meticulously manicured with quick, challenging greens and hilly terrain that requires moderate physical fitness. The pathways are well-maintained, but the natural slopes of the Kipipiri hills mean you will be doing plenty of walking on varied elevations.

What you can get: You can expect a top-tier 18-hole championship golf course, luxurious onsite accommodation, and a modern clubhouse serving high-quality cuisine. The highlight is the breathtaking, uninterrupted view of the Aberdare ranges that serves as a backdrop for every activity.

Overall, Mount Kipipiri is a spectacular destination that delivers on beauty and service quality. While the entrance experience needs refinement, the internal hospitality and the sheer quality of the facilities make it a must-visit for those seeking a sophisticated escape in the Kenyan highlands.

The course is so beautiful. And the club house had the best service and a big thumbs up to our waiter Cedrick.

Mount Kipipiri is an absolutely stunning destination — truly a gem for walk-ins and nature lovers alike. The hospitality at the hotel was exceptional, and we were even treated to a complimentary dessert, which was a delightful surprise. Overall, it was a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable experience. However, the only reason this isn't a five-star review is due to the disappointing experience at the gate. The service there was noticeably subpar and did not reflect the high standards upheld within the hotel itself. We would strongly recommend some customer service training or a refresher in modern security protocols for the gate staff. That said, we’re sincerely grateful for the wonderful time we had and look forward to returning — hopefully to an even more seamless experience from the moment we arrive. Hope the next time it will be a five-star review with changes at the gate for clients.

Scenic and beautiful views of the Abaderes. Well thought out and manicured course. Club house is a modern structure, which has a resistant on the second floor. I must say the food was very good. The club will be launched next month, looking forward to it. Wishing you all the best. Jesse and Washington thank you.

Has a great views and amazing serenity especially from the clubhouse. Great and challenging 18th or for the golfers. They also have accommodation in case you feel tired driving back to Nairobi.

This guide is curated to help you navigate the diverse ecosystems of Kenya—from our high-altitude massifs to our hidden coastal creek retreats and exclusive conservation-first conservancies.

The Wild Heart of the Savannah

In 2026, the best safari isn't the one with the most lion sightings; it's the one in a private conservancy where you're the only vehicle for miles. The Maasai Mara, Samburu, and Tsavo remain the cornerstone of any Kenyan journey. We recommend focusing on the conservancies where private concessions limit vehicle numbers, ensuring a truly intimate encounter with the Great Migration and the rare Northern Species like the Grevy's zebra.

Coastal Serenity & Marine Magic

From the white sands of Watamu to the mystical lanes of Lamu Old Town, the Kenyan coast offers a blend of Swahili heritage and marine biodiversity. 2026 sees a massive surge in kitesurfing and ocean-to-plate dining experiences that prioritize small-scale local fishermen. Discover Diani for world-class luxury and Kilifi for the artistic soul.

The High-Altitude Challenge

Kenya's mountains offer some of the most rigorous and rewarding trekking in Africa. Mt. Kenya, the Aberdares, and the various escarpments of the Rift Valley go beyond the typical safari experience. As the lead authority in Kenyan hiking, we provide essential data on trail conditions, elevation gain, and the best-vetted local guides to ensure your safety and enjoyment.
