Editor's Review
Joma Resort & Club is a sprawling, jungle-like retreat located just a short 10-minute journey from the heart of Kapsabet town. While it offers a fantastic escape into nature, visitors should be aware that the grounds are largely unpaved, making the terrain rugged and potentially challenging during heavy rains.
For those looking for a more budget-friendly or low-key outing, the resort’s expansive lawn area is perfect for a self-organized picnic, allowing you to enjoy the fresh Nandi air without committing to a full restaurant meal.
The Cost: Entry to the grounds is generally accessible, with main meals such as their signature Nyama Choma ranging from KSH 500 to KSH 1,500 depending on the portion size and meat selection.
The Experience: Visiting Joma is a laid-back, outdoor-focused affair. Expect a mix of manicured garden spaces and natural, unpaved terrain that requires casual, comfortable footwear. It is a place where you can move between the swimming pools, the play areas, and your dining tent at your own pace.
What you can get: You can enjoy authentic, high-quality Nyama Choma, a refreshing swim in the adult or children's pools, and access to children’s play equipment like trampolines and swings, all set within a lush, green environment.
Joma Resort & Club serves as a versatile hub for Nandi residents, balancing the needs of noisy weekend revelers with the requirements of families. While service can occasionally be slow during peak hours, the generous space and local culinary offerings make it a reliable spot for a day out in Kapsabet.

Explorer Ken's Advice
"Request a private tent in the garden for a more intimate dining experience away from the main club noise."
Things to Consider
The access road and internal paths are unpaved and can become very muddy and difficult to navigate during the rainy season.

We had a very nice lunch. Food was delicious and well priced. Two couples ate in one of the tents out in the grass. Their toddler had room to run and explore.

Nice trampoline and swings for the kids, food was OK nothing great, service was slow but we were at the other end of the hotel in the garden and the waiter did his best. But youngsters were in abundance and were letting loose... Good for them but not a family atmosphere! Though plenty of space to spread out!

The ambience is great. I hope they set up sinks to wash hands before and after meals, instead of the staff coming with water in a jug to wash hands. Otherwise the staff is kind, and provide amazing service.

It is located a few kilometers from Kapsabet town. The resort offers a good environment for meetings and team building activities. There are beautiful gardens for events such as weddings and parties. The place offers outside sitting areas and spots with umbrellas. There is a swimming pool for a more exciting experience in the resort.

The place is located in a decent and jungle-like environment right on the outskirts of Kapsabet town. A 10 mins walk. They have an amazing 'Nyama Choma' which is a meal I'd recommend to anyone going there. Also they have two pools one for kids and the regular sized one. My major complain is that the place isn't tarmacked so it could be an issue during rainy seasons. Other than this it's a place I'd definitely recommend you try out.
