Core Activities

Editor's Review

Climb BlueSky, now operating under the BICAM venue in the Karen area, serves as an active social hub known for its rock climbing walls and outdoor event space. Access is straightforward for those in the Karen vicinity, though visitors should note that the site has undergone management and branding changes, moving away from the former Purdy Arms identity.

If the climbing wall is too busy or the facility is undergoing maintenance, you can enjoy a quiet walk through the nearby Oloolua Nature Trail, which offers a much more serene and well-maintained forest experience for a very affordable entry fee.

The Cost: Climbing sessions typically start at KSH 800 to KSH 1,500 per person, depending on whether you require equipment rental. Event entry fees vary significantly based on the specific artist or production hosting the show.

The Experience: Visiting here is a mix of physical exertion and casual social hanging. The climbing wall requires moderate physical effort and is suitable for beginners and intermediate climbers. The terrain surrounding the wall is generally flat and accessible, though it lacks the high-end polish of larger commercial climbing gyms in Nairobi.

What you can get: You can get a solid indoor-outdoor climbing workout, access to live music performances featuring local Kenyan artists, and a variety of meat-heavy menu items and drinks typical of a lively Karen-style social grill.

Overall, this venue is a hit-or-miss spot that depends entirely on whether you are there for a scheduled event or a solo climbing session; ensure you confirm their current operational status before making the trip.

This location is no longer Purdy Arms but is called BICAM. Attended an event dubbed Chords and Grills with Kidum starring as the main attraction alongside other up and coming artists. Was an amazing event with lots of meat, drinks and great music. The DJ took us back in time to some great early 2000s hits.

Smaller than I expected. Lackluster compared to the one in Diamond plaza. They could at least clean it. Looked a bit dirty.

Because they are closed for now, a review is pointless.

Everything You Need to Know About Discovering Kenya

As we move deeper into 2026, the definition of travel is evolving. No longer content with superficial sightings, the modern traveler seeks depth, purpose, and local engagement. This guide is curated to help you navigate the diverse ecosystems of Kenya—from our high-altitude massifs to our hidden coastal creek retreats and exclusive conservation-first conservancies.

  • Sustainable & Carbon-Neutral Stays

The Wild Heart of the Savannah

In 2026, the best safari isn't the one with the most lion sightings; it's the one in a private conservancy where you're the only vehicle for miles. The Maasai Mara, Samburu, and Tsavo remain the cornerstone of any Kenyan journey. We recommend focusing on the conservancies where private concessions limit vehicle numbers, ensuring a truly intimate encounter with the Great Migration and the rare Northern Species like the Grevy's zebra.

Coastal Serenity & Marine Magic

From the white sands of Watamu to the mystical lanes of Lamu Old Town, the Kenyan coast offers a blend of Swahili heritage and marine biodiversity. 2026 sees a massive surge in kitesurfing and ocean-to-plate dining experiences that prioritize small-scale local fishermen. Discover Diani for world-class luxury and Kilifi for the artistic soul.

The High-Altitude Challenge

Kenya's mountains offer some of the most rigorous and rewarding trekking in Africa. Mt. Kenya, the Aberdares, and the various escarpments of the Rift Valley go beyond the typical safari experience. As the lead authority in Kenyan hiking, we provide essential data on trail conditions, elevation gain, and the best-vetted local guides to ensure your safety and enjoyment.
